Baviaanskloof Adventure Baviaanskloof Adventure

With Suzuki Bryanston sponsoring the lead car On 28 th of March some members of four clubs joined us in Steytlerville. We got to Know one another, tasted and felt the Karoo. Some of us traveled from Cape Town,Mosselbay,P.E and Johannesburg. There was 13 Zooks and 25 of us left early morning on good Friday into the Baviaanskloof. The first stretch was the Antoniesberg Mountain Pass. We had some rain and the mountains were quite scenic through the clouds. We stopped in Patensie in the beautiful Gamtoos valley to refresh and still had to go through to doringkloof camp where we camped and stayed for 2 Nights. We stopped in smits-kraal for Lepatite da Boereworsrols served by our Host 4XVuuren Adventures Andre. After we had lunch we embarked to Doringkloof bush camp. On satureday 30th of March we relaxed and drove a small part of the 4x4 route onto the Baviaans Mountain Range. It started to rain and we had to turn the convoy around for safety reasons. Due to the rain we decided to split the group in two for the 78km rout to kareedouw leaded by Gary Koekemoer from 4X4 PE club. The rest of us took the more scenic route via Nuwekloof pass and Uniondale Langkloof where some left for Home. The last stretch and it was really raining hard we stopped at the Kouga Dam and left for Kudu Kaya where we ended this magnificent adventure. Thanks TO ALL of you that Made it on this adventure.

Five GV’s, one Pajero, one Prado and a host of Jimnys made up the group. The turnout was excellent which proved two things. Firstly, the club is healthy and active. Secondly, there were a lot of adrenalin junkies that needed a fix after the slack holiday period!
