Suzuki 4x4 Club SA Mozambique Trip Easter 2019 Macaneta 19 – 23 April 2019.

It’s time for our annual popular Mozambique trip!

We will leave early on Good Friday morning, 19 April 2019. We will meet at Millies on the N4 at 09h00. https://www.google.co.za/maps/dir/Milly's+Restaurant+and+Accommodation,+N4,+eNtokozweni,+1170/Milly's+Restaurant+and+Accommodation,+N4,+eNtokozweni/@-25.6885062,30.1765926,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x1e950c18479e9195:0x1ced25133a8eff04!2m2!1d30.2116122!2d-25.6885104!1m5!1m1!1s0x1e950c18479e9195:0x1ced25133a8eff04!2m2!1d30.2116122!2d-25.6885104!3e0 From Millies we will leave at 09h00 sharp to Swaziland via Baberton and surrounding mountain passes. The Friday night we will sleep over (Camping) at Malolotja Nature Reserve. There are lodge facilities available, but they are very difficult to get hold of. Saturday morning 20 April we will leave Swaziland behind and proceed to Mozambique. We should arrive at our final destination around 15h00.

This is a self-catering camping trip, in your own tents. The camp site in Mozambique will have electricity. Once in Mozambique, we will camp at the same venue from Saturday to Monday evening. Tuesday morning, 23 April, to avoid the usual public holiday border craziness, we will head home again. Should you want to stay longer, please make your own arrangements.

Where are we going? We will camp at Jays Beach Lodge, a rustic and quiet holiday resort, situated on the island of Macaneta, 40km north of Maputo. Chalets and camping sites just behind the dunes, meters away from the snow white sandy beach and beautiful sea. For day visitors there are a swimming pool, picnic sites with BBQ facilities, a Bar and Restaurant in a beautiful garden.

Campsites have running water and BBQ’s. Some have thatched shaded umbrellas and all very close to the beach. Ablutions have electric lighting and hot and cold water. Power points are available.

We will explore the surrounding area with LOTS of soft sand. There are various beach pubs and small restaurants in the area accessible via your Suzuki 4x4. So, lots of fun getting to different places. There will be no set times to do anything. This is your chill time to have fun in your own time.

We will do some outrides in the area during our stay.

Finer detail will be announced ASAP.

For those of you with “Foreign Passports” you will need and Alvara Form. Please contact Alex Brakhoven, on Alex Brakhoven brakhova@webafrica.org.za .

Hi Ryno,

I tried to get my visum application in at the Moz High Commission, but ran into a slight “challenge”.

Their requirements have changed and I need every document from Moz. (Alvara & confirmation of stay) certified.

Can you help by sending out a reminder to all who need a visum to contact me so we can save Gerhard the trouble of doing this x times.

If he can do this one time for those who need this, it will save him running up & down.

I already sent a mail to Gerhard, but I can put him on hold until we know who else might need this.

Jammer, moes in Afrikaans gewees het.

Regards

Alex Brakhoven
